Home Schooling Packages
British standard, bilingual, inclusive education for an international community
Primary and Secondary Packages
Our primary and secondary school packages cover the full British Curriculum with an emphasis on bilingual learning. We aim to ensure that our pupils develop high levels of academic vocabulary in both French and English. Our curricula are designed to maximise learning and engagement through a range of evidence based teaching techniques. We have high expectations of all our pupils and structure their learning so that they master key skills. All of our learning sequences are structured with a clear progression of skills and knowledge acquisition.
All our home schooling packages take place at our learning hub, based in Les Tines. They include Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with the option of joining our Wednesday school classes.
Whether your kids are from the valley, here for the ski season or on sabatical giving valley life a try, we will have an education package to meet your kids’ needs!
Wednesday School
We offer reading, writing and Science lessons throughout the morning. These sessions run every Wednesday during French term time. They are for ages 3 to 11 and focus on delivering the National Curriculum at an age related level. Children will participate in group teaching and independently set tasks all in Mother tongue English. They focus on developing English reading and writing skills and academic vocabulary.
You can choose to enrol in either; single hour or all morning depending on your requirements.
Holiday Learning Camps
During the French school holidays we offer holiday learning camps for kids aged 3 - 11 years old. Our mornings are packed with diverse, fun and creative project based learning covering the English National Curriculum. In the afternoon we run interactive and engaging Forest School activities led by a Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader. The primary focus of our learning camps is to develop academic English vocabulary and to have lots of fun!
Check out our current sessions page to see when we are running our next camp!
Private Tuition
We offer tuition in a range of subjects from primary to GCSE, which can be 1 to 1 or in a small group of peers. The sessions can be designed to close an attainment gap or accelerate learning, develop or pursue an academic interest, re-engage your child in an area of learning or expose your child to new learning not on offer in their current setting.
Developing Early Reading Skills
Our specialists offer early reading support in English for children. This includes teaching children to read accurately and precisely through synthetic phonics, developing children’s comprehension skills and fostering a love of the written word.
Our specialists will carry out benchmarking assessments to identify areas of development and create tailored bespoke programmes.
Here are some of the sessions we have been running recently:
Computing and Coding Skills
One of our most popular requests has been running a small group computing club. Children develop their coding skills and understanding of programming.
Book Worms!
Secondary School Tuition focused on developing a love of reading in English, expanding genres, and developing higher order reading comprehension skills demanded at key stage 3.
Maths; number fun!
Bespoke tuition to re-engage a pupil in the wonder of number and the number system.
Special Educational Needs
We offer a wide range of services and expertise to support pupils who are neurodivergent or identify as having additional needs. This support ranges from just a coffee and a chat to a comprehensive targeted intervention.
We believe that a high quality education is a fundamental right for every child. Teachers have the opportunity to influence the learning experiences and attitudes of all their pupils, especially those with neurological or physical differences. We know that good progress and attainment is possible for all pupils irrespective of their differences.
We know the challenges that parents of a child with cognitive, neurological or physical differences face finding the right support from within and outside the educational world. It can be a lonely and overwhelming place to be when there appears to be so many barriers to your child’ s success and happiness or when your child’s differences are not accepted or celebrated.
